Think of hardcover bestselling novels, this is a casebound book. With case binding, single pages are sewn or stitched together to create a text block which is then held in place inside the the hard cover using glued-on endpapers. A casebound book a has a long shelf life, ideal for books that receive heavy usage.

Perfect Bound Book (PUR)

If you have recently held a high end magazine with a squared off spine, this is a perfect bound book. Printed pages are stacked in a block and glued together along the spine. The printed cover is then wrapped around the spine and glued into place. PUR book covers have great flexibility when the book is open however does not lie flat.

Saddle Stitched Book

Think of magazines that are able to lie flat when opened, this is a stitched book. Pages must be created in multiples of four due to being printed as spreads. These spreads are then stacked, folded and stitched into place along the spine. Stitched books are a cheap alternative and ideal for short-term use.

Wiro Bound Book

Wiro Bound books are ideal for present reports and manuals in a professional manner. Pages are gathered together, with holes punched along one side and secured with a metal wire spine. Spiral binding allow pages to lie flat when opened and fold back on themselves 360°.
